Millennials are experiencing a midlife crisis as adulthood becomes full-time. This year marks the 30th birthday of the youngest millennial. The current climate makes being a millennial difficult. Before social media and certain technology, there was a time when products were cheaper and life was simpler. At present, the cost of living is expensive, the job market is not the best and career growth is stagnant. Adulting fulltime for the rest of our lives looks very bleak. As the next generation of parents, the millennials will be the ones to raise Gen Alpha and Beta. Adult responsibilities build up as we get older in life. It's about experience and creating your own luck in life now. Life will beat you down and you will not be forgiven until you do the work. Life is not what we thought it was as adults and millennials. According to the Thriving Center of Psychology, 1 in 2 millennials expect to have a midlife crisis in the future. A millennial crisis will happen to every millennial you know.

After gaining life experience, losing our identity and hit setbacks and don't see them coming. Our dreams, goals, expectations, reality, family, lifestyle, friendships and financials are all part of who we are and where we want to be. What you want and reality are two different things. Millennials today aspire to success in every aspect of their lives and are not achieving it. In the present day, the system and playbook are no longer relevant. The system and the playbook don't work today. When your grandparents and parents were young, they achieved their life goals, but today it doesn't work that way. Millennials are facing a reality where traditional paths to success are no longer guaranteed. The pressure to achieve greatness and the lack of clear guidance can lead to frustration and contribute to a midlife crisis.

Being an adult is part of losing your identity. We tie our identity to what we do as a person and to our past accomplishments. Adult responsibility and today's climate affect millennials. As millennials get older and another birthday comes, what are we doing in life and are we wasting our lives away? This is where every crisis begins. The millennials face uncertain times. Millennials are a generation made before and after social media and technology. Millennials' goals in life and how they live their lives are directly affected by the current economic climate.

A millennial who lives an average life and is a member of society is experiencing a crisis due to a lack of accomplishments in life. Nearly 1 in 2 (49 percent) millennials feel trapped in their lives. Most feel trapped because of money, life circumstances, themselves or a combination of all those things. Statistics show that 70 percent are not where they thought they’d be at this point in their lives according to the Thriving Center of Psychology.

The millennial generation is experiencing a crisis when it comes to living in general. Today's climate is about political views, low wages, Canadian issues, Trump, wars, inflation, the region, Mass immigration and cultural shifts. A major issue affecting millennials is financial and past or current government policies. The new reality is that everything costs more, we can't own things, and we're drowning in consumer debt. It's reported that the average person buying a home is 40 years old. This means new generations coming up doesn't have a chance.

In a study, 62 percent of millennials have delayed major life milestones because of financial reasons and 30 percent have delayed major milestones because of mental health reasons. At this point in their lives, 62 percent of millennials do not feel financially stable and 38 percent do not feel mentally stable according to the Thriving Center of Psychology. There is proof that millennials are not achieving their life goals due to the uncertain life we live in. This will lead to millennials living through a crisis that they have to solve themselves.
