How to form a habit

A habit is formed through patience, consistency, and small steps. To get started, follow these steps:

1. Start Small: Begin with an easy, manageable version of the habit. For example, if you want to exercise daily, start with just 5 minutes a day.

2. Set a Trigger: Choose a specific time or event that reminds you to do the habit. It could be right after you wake up or after lunch.

3. Be Consistent: Aim to do the habit at the same time every day. Consistency helps reinforce the habit.

4. Track Your Progress: Use a journal, app, or calendar to mark each day you complete the habit. This helps keep you motivated.

5. Reward Yourself: Give yourself a small reward after completing the habit. Positive reinforcement strengthens the behaviour.

6. Be Patient: Habits take time to form. Don’t get discouraged if you miss a day; just get back on track the next day.

7. Adjust as Needed: If something isn’t working, tweak your approach. It’s okay to make changes to better suit your lifestyle.

Following these steps gradually forms a new habit that becomes a part of your daily routine.
